Chapter excerpts and a bit about them.
Last Job: File 3454 - Chapter 5
She was a girl, in her early twenties at most. She wore black boots several sizes too big, tattered jeans, a new shirt with the logo of 'Viva Paws Vegas' on it with what looked like an otter holding the ace of spades, and finally, on her head was an obvious fake wolf head as a hat. [with googly eyes]

A new figure enters into the mix of what Mann and Grills are already facing. What does this young woman have to do with the weird goings on?
Does the addition of googly eyes properly convey her character?
Read the novel and find out ;)
Last Job: File 3454 - Chapter 2
"You know what, why don't you check it out?" [Grills asked]
"Me? Fuck No!" said Mann as he pointed to where the shadow disappeared. "Something is out there. Something big and fast!"
. . .
"I'll cover you then. Otherwise, we leave it alone and forget about it."
Mann's fingers tapped on the door handle. "Well, there could be something useful in that truck,"

Now it's time to see a bit more about Mann. He's indecisive, there are too many possibilities and options. So much so that when the chips aren't down he doesn't have full control over his own thoughts (as we'll see later).
Last Job: File 3454 - Chapter 1
"What do you need grenades for?" [asked Mann]
. . .
"You'll know if we see it." [answered Grills]

Both Buck and I fleshed out our characters before we started writing Last Job and this little interaction between Mann and Grills in my mind gives a taste of what's to come. If the reader assumes grenades are normal, Mann is suggesting they really aren't while Grills agrees with that while also carrying them anyway. In my mind this is a good way to prepare further points on Grills.
